Oddly they regressed as it worked fine before that haha. right click the short cut --> properties --> Compatibility tab --> Check disable dpi scaling. 100% dpi, decrease the resolution. The best compromise I found after 2 hours of fiddling with setting is this: set scaling to 150% and use 1900x1200 resolution in game.
